Cheryl Dalmer completed 17 years at NAIT, including 10 years in new Digital Media and IT program. She taught and designed curriculum for Communications, Story Development, Production Planning Process, Production Lab and Independent Video Production and most recently the ground-breaking Transmedia course. She was instrumental in the creation of the StoryWorld Quest, an international Transmedia conference in October 2014. Cheryl took the lead in developing and Administering 2 new Post Diploma/Professional Development courses; Producer Emergence Program and The Craft and Business of Screenwriting and several joint Industry Training programs/workshops. In 2012 she was awarded the NAIT Extra Mile Award, for her work fostering Industry Relationships, spearheading the Digital Cinema Career Path for DMIT, and advocating for student internships and scholarships. Before taking the teaching position at NAIT, Cheryl worked as a Freelance Television and Video Writer/Producer for 15 years in Edmonton on dramatic, magazine and live television productions. She has won awards for live television event and corporate videos. 2009-2014 Cheryl was appointed by the Minister of Culture and on the Provincial Government’s Film Advisory Committee (the AFAC) as the Education, Training and Mentorship representative.
